Fibre based products are such an important part of fighting the climate crisis because they are zero plastic ! Usually made from waste by-products like hemp husk or sugarcane pulp, these materials are pioneering technologies that reclaim industrial waste.
Here's some of our most important fibre based products:
• Needle and cartridge packaging. With Workhorse Irons we brought the first fibre based, PFAS free and unbleached blister packaging to the tattoo industry.
• Mycelium trays and pen grips. These are made from hemp fibre and grown together with the power of mushrooms. Mycelium is the underground root network work mushrooms. New technology invented by ecovative is pioneering products that are grown not made!
• Zero plastic ink caps that are made of bagasse (sugarcane pulp) and a starch coating that makes them leak proof.
• Zero plastic rinse cups that come coated in PLA or uncoated. Made of bagasse and completely plant based.
• Bamboo tongue depressors are better for the environment. Bamboo grows 10 times faster than trees making them more sustainable to harvest and avoiding wood also avoids contributing to the deforestation of our vulnerable boreal forests.
• FSC certified bamboo 'paper' towel that doesn't come from our strained Canadian Boreal forest (unlike Bounty, Kirkland etc)
• Zero plastic tattoo towels that contain no chemicals. Unlike shop cloths or other mainstream cloths which contain petroleum these are a 100% plant based.
