What Happens To Incinerated Garbage?

What Happens To Incinerated Garbage?

If your tattoo garbage gets incinerated it may seem like a good solution because it's not ending up in a landfill or in the environment. But is it actually?

Unfortunately it's the worst possible choice for disposing of plastic garbage in particular.

While the garbage physically disappears it is actually just being turned into toxic air pollutants. The biggest contributor to the climate crisis is rising global temperatures from burning fossil fuels and since plastic is made from fossil fuels lighting it on fire only adds to the problem! The worst part is that the residual ash from burning is more toxic than the garbage itself.

So what can we do? At Good Judy we believe investing in compostable and reusable options is the only way to force the hand of big polluters into making products we want and shifting government policy to prioritize industrial composting.
